Our Family & Yours

The Main family has grown to a team of 2 radiologists, one physician, two ultrasound technologists, and one administrative staff.

Over the years, coordinated efforts and daily experiences have shaped a proficient, collegial and harmonious team. As we continue to learn from each other, we strive to deliver the best experience possible to our patients. Our focus is patient advocacy, a principal deeply ingrained in us all. We are here to answer your questions and tailor them to your needs.

Dr. Rolando Cepeda MD, FRCSC

Fertility Specialist

Dr. Cepeda is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist, specialized in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. His OB/GYNE undergraduate studies were completed at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and later completed the same program from McMaster University. His latest experience has been curating his former clinic HART Fertility for the last 23 years. One of Dr. Cepeda’s most accomplished work comes from contributing in the foundation of the ALARM International Program with the purpose of reducing maternal mortality in the third world, for more than 18 years. Dr. Cepeda is passionate about leaving a long-lasting mark in the healthcare profession, and therefore he has opened Main Ultrasound in order to carry out this legacy.

Dr. Stephanie Winsor MD, FRCSC

Maternal Fetal Medicine

Dr. Winsor is a subspecialist in Maternal Fetal Medicine. She completed her medical school training at the University of Western Ontario and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Queen’s University in Kingston. She is an Associate Professor at McMaster in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology where she began in 2002. Dr. Winsor has over 25 years of experience in “High-Risk” Obstetrics. Her research and clinical interests include Prenatal Diagnosis and other fetal conditions such as IUGR and complications of twins. She is excited to be part of the amazing team at Main Ultrasound to help provide exceptional care to the community.

Dr. Michelle Morais

Hon BSc, MD, FRCSC, DRCPSC

Dr. Michelle Morais is a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist who has been with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McMaster University since 2013. She completed her medical school training at Memorial University of Newfoundland followed by residency and fellowship training at McMaster. Dr. Morais, Associate Professor, holds a number of educational and administrative roles within McMaster University, The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She is proud to be a new member of the Main Ultrasound team!

Meredith Hood, CRGS, DMS (AB, OB/GYN, PS)

Obstetrical Sonographer

Meredith Hood, a high-risk obstetrical sonographer with over 12 years of experience, is a vital part of Main Ultrasound. Her Bachelor’s Degree from McMaster University and extensive experience at prominent hospitals like Sunnybrook Health Sciences and St. Michael’s Hospital highlight her expertise. Meredith is dedicated to providing inclusive and safe ultrasound experiences, with a particular focus on the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Her passion for her field is matched by her love for women’s hockey and travel, making her a well-rounded and empathetic member of the team.

Kristin Ash

Office Administrator

Kristin has been a valued member of Main Ultrasound since November 2023. She graduated from the Medical Office Administration program at George Brown College in 2011 and completed her clerical placement at North Bay Hospital, where she worked in the OR.

Before joining the Main Ultrasound team, Kristin gained diverse experience at Oakville Hospital, working in various departments, including Labour and Delivery.

Kristin is happily married and has one son. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and tackling DIY projects.

Brooke Stubbings

Office Administrator

Brooke proudly joined the Administration team at Main Ultrasound in December 2023. She is a graduate Medical Laboratory Technician and an active member of the Medical Laboratory Professionals Association of Ontario.

Brooke is passionate about helping people in our community and has a love for art, music, and dance.

Michelle Palmer

Obstetrical Sonographer

Michelle has been a sonographer since receiving her Bachelor’s in Medical Radiation Science from McMaster University in 2013. Her employment experiences in Ontario and Saskatchewan have emphasized advanced gynecologic, high-risk obstetrical, and musculoskeletal ultrasound, and has also included general and pediatric sonography.

She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Medical Sonography with Central Queensland University.
Michelle’s passion lies in providing high quality, evidence-based healthcare while providing a safe and validating environment for her patients. When she is not working, she enjoys reading, gardening and hiking.

Yes. All tests are covered by OHIP with a valid health and a requisition form signed by a licensed Ontario practitioner.

Yes, there is. The fees vary depending on the type of test. Additionally, if you don't have a valid health card, we recommend reaching out to us to discuss other types of insurance coverage you may have, such as Refugee or Blue Cross. We understand that navigating healthcare coverage can be confusing, so please don't hesitate to contact us so we can help determine your eligibility. For further information, we kindly ask that you call our clinic at (289) 396-1622.

We understand that receiving your test results in a timely manner can alleviate anxiety and provide peace of mind. For non-urgent tests, we strive to have the results sent to your doctor by the next business day. However, for urgent tests, as designated by your doctor, we will provide preliminary results on the same day to ensure that you receive the care and attention you need as quickly as possible.

We understand that waiting for test results can make some anxious and it's natural to have questions. However, it's important to know that our sonographers are not permitted to discuss the results with you. We want to ensure that you receive accurate and complete information, which is why only your doctor will discuss the results with you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.

You don't need to have a requisition or referral form specifically from Hamilton Ultrasound Diagnostic Services. You can use any requisition or referral form from any clinic as long as it has been ordered and signed by a Licensed Ontario Practitioner.
